XC SKIING Highlights

Try something different!

The Kitzbühel Alps have developed a reputation in recent years as a top destination for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. It is little wonder if you take a look at the huge range of well-maintained trails on offer, including a 6.7km floodlit trail at the Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith open every day until 21:30.

Those in search of snowsure conditions throughout the season should head to the high-altitude trail at Pass Thurn at 1274 metres above sea level, which is also floodlit every day from 17:00 until 21:00.

Dotted along the trails there are many huts serving traditional Tyrolean food. The perfect place to relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy the sunshine!

The silence of cross-country skiing

The network of cross-country skiing trails in and around Kitzbühel takes guests to some of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Tyrol. While "Kitz" itself has 60 kilometres of trails, the neighbouring villages and valleys offer almost 500 further trails for skiers of all abilities. Beginners and families will love the Brixental Valley and the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, while the Pillerseetal offers more challenging terrain for advanced and expert skiers. The Pillerseetal also hosts the Biathlon World Cup every year.

Oh, and one more thing: cross-country skiing in the Kitzbühel Alps is completely free of charge!
